An absorbent article according to the present disclosure has the following structure. An absorbent article (1) that includes a functional composition and that has a planar direction and a thickness direction, the absorbent article (1) being characterized in that the functional composition includes a volatile first functional component, a volatile second functional component, water-disintegrable microcapsules that contain the second functional component, and a solvent that keeps the second functional component contained inside the microcapsules, in that, between a liquid-permeable layer (2) and an absorption layer (4), the absorbent article (1) has functional composition coated regions (8) that extend in the planar direction and that are coated with the functional composition, and has adhesive coated regions (9) that extend in the planar direction and that are coated with an adhesive, and in that the adhesive coated regions (9) have an adhesive region (10) that directly or indirectly joins the liquid-permeable payer (2) and the absorption layer (4).
