<;P>;PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery-driven implement enabling a feed current to a DC motor to be switched by the operation of a starting switch even when the short-circuited obstacle of a semiconductor switching element is caused, and having functions for detecting the short-circuited obstacle of the semiconductor switching element, and to provide a method for controlling the implement. <;P>;SOLUTION: The implement equipped with a battery 10, a rotation part 7 for rotating a blade or the like, a motor 20 for driving the rotation part 7, and a control circuit for controlling the motor 20 is constituted as follows.
