PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which forms beautiful pleats, looks like an underwear, and is excellent in air permeability and dehumidifiability.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 includes an absorbent body 3 and an exterior body 4, and has an abdomen side part A, a crotch part C, and a back side part B, wherein the abdomen side part A and the back side part B are joined to form a waist opening part 12, or the abdomen side part A and the back side part B may come into contact with each other to configure the waist opening part. The exterior body 4 includes an outer layer sheet 4A forming an outer surface of the absorbent article 1 and an inner layer sheet 4B layered on a skin-abutting surface side of the outer layer sheet. The exterior body 4 in a part 12 near the waist opening part has a plurality of pleats 41, 42 at intervals in the waist opening part periphery direction on the inner layer sheet surface and the outer layer sheet surface, and a pitch between pleats 42 and 42 on the inner layer sheet 4B surface is smaller than one between pleats 41 and 41 on the outer layer sheet 4A surface.
