Present invention provides a method of imaging lipid droplets in cells using confocal microscopy and a kit for counting the number of lipid droplet inside a single live cell by staining it with dye and examining by confocal microscopy to generate an electronically transmittable digitized image. This kit therefore is able to distinguish cancer cells from the normal cells based on the count of lipid droplets as biomarkers.
