The invention presented herein is a vein viewer system defined by a sampling device specifically designed to obtain vein images from their interaction with short infrared wavelengths. It is integrable with conventional mobile devices via cable connection and an auxiliary application that processes and displays subcutaneous vein images on the smartphone or tablet screen in real time. The sampler lighting system provides two wavelengths, 760nm and 850nm, alternately activated by selector switch and attenuated by a potentiometer.
