PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mist generator capable of increasing a generation amount of mist and continuously generating mist of a prescribed size.SOLUTION: A mist generator includes a mist generation part 21 having a distal end part 24 of an arbitrary shape and sucking water as a liquid by a pressure difference and capillary action, wherein a surface roughening part 23 having a rough surface shape is formed on an outer side face of the distal end part 24 of the mist generation part 21. By forming the outer side face of the distal end part 24 into the rough surface shape, mist from projections at a plurality of rough-surfaced recessed and projected distal ends are generated, and the mist generation amount from the mist generation part 21 is increased.
