The spacers, designed to attach lifting wires to a post (8) for training climbing plants and especially grape vines, consist of two branches (1), one on each side of the post. Each spacer branch is made from metal wire bent to form a loop (4) at one end and a hinge (51) and stop (55) at the other, and is attached to a post by a slot (80) in a metal post, a staple or plate on a timber one or a clip for a post of angle iron.
