The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention or treatment of cancer, to an inducing agent for the apoptosis of cancer cells, and to a health functional food for the prevention or treatment of cancer including an Aruncus dioicus var. kamtschaticus extract, or aruncin B, expressed in the following formula 1, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient.
