PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for manufacturing a brush single body in which the occurrence of defective products is reduced and the productivity is high, in the manufacturing of the brush single body of a rotary toothbrush having a roller-shaped rotating brush obtained by overlaying multiple pieces of substantially disc-shaped brush single bodies formed by radially joining synthetic resin strands such as nylon.SOLUTION: An apparatus for manufacturing a brush single body is configured by stacking multiple pieces to form a rotating brush, and comprises: a base formed by assembling a large number of strands in a bundle shape and provided with insertion holes passing a strand group a strand delivery part for feeding the strand group from a feeder with a ring cutter and holding it while being projected from the insertion holes of the base to the outside by a fixed quantity and an ultrasonic welding machine with a horn for radially pushing and opening a projecting end of the strand group by the tip part and welding the central portion.
