PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method with which a specific amount of a coating liquid can be efficiently and stably coated on a sheet.SOLUTION: As a coating device, a coating device 2 is used which is provided with: a coating means 3 which coats the coating liquid on one surface Sa of a belt-shaped sheet S being transported without contact and a roll 5 which is situated downstream of the coating means 3 in the transportation direction of the sheet V and rotates while having an outer peripheral surface 5a being contact with one surface Sa of the sheet S. Further, a specific part S1 situated between the coating means 3 and the roll 5 during the transportation of the sheet S becomes one of the following states A-C. Also, as the roll 5, a heated roll having a heated outer peripheral surface 5a is used. The state A is a horizontal state. The state B is a vertical state where the roll 5 side of the specific part S1 is situated on the side lower than the side of the coating means 3.
