To provide, e.g., a method for treating hair that can be easily implemented even by a non-trained user.SOLUTION: A method for treating hair comprises the steps of: providing a first composition having a specific viscosity and a second composition compatible with the first composition； providing a recipient comprising a base, a frame on the circumference thereof, and a cavity delimited by the base and the frame and configured to contain a hair treatment composition, where the frame comprises partition means or indicia for physically or virtually splitting the volume of the cavity into at least two adjacent sub-volumes； pouring the first composition into the cavity of the recipient； applying a first portion of the first composition to the hair； retaining a second portion 3 of the first composition in one of the sub-volumes of the cavity； pouring the second composition into the other sub-volume； mixing the second composition with the second portion of the first composition； and applying the obtained composition to the hair.
