PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drug and a food effective against arteriosclerosis by inhibiting concentration rise of an intercellular adhesion factor soluble in blood (sICAM-1).SOLUTION: A concentration rise inhibiting factor for an intercellular adhesion factor soluble in blood (sICAM-1) is searched from food materials, and the effect is found from Lactobacillus lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium lactobacillus, and a concentration rise inhibitor for sICAM-1 in blood including a culture and/or a cell obtained by cultivating the lactobacilli as active ingredients is obtained.【課題】血中可溶性細胞間接着因子（ｓＩＣＡＭ－１）濃度の上昇を抑制することで、動脈硬化に有効な医薬品や食品を提供することを課題とする。【解決手段】血中可溶性細胞間接着因子（ｓＩＣＡＭ－１）の濃度上昇を抑制する因子を食品素材から探索し、その効果をラクトバチルス乳酸菌、ビフィドバクテリウム乳酸菌から見出し、該乳酸菌を培養して得られる培養物及び／または菌体を有効成分とする血中ｓＩＣＡＭ－１濃度上昇抑制剤を得た。【選択図】 図１
