A method for restoring the functional state of the musculoskeletal system includes physical exercises using a device according to the invention, the physical exercises are carried out by means of the repeated rocking of the feet in a vertical plane while standing on a platform of a training device, which is movable relative to a horizontal axis, while holding onto vertically-installed handholds. The design of a training device for restoring the functional state of the musculoskeletal system includes a frame with a platform, and handholds according to the invention, the frame has mounted thereon a horizontal shaft which is connected to a drive unit and which has rigidly affixed thereto a platform that is mounted so as to capable of rocking up and down, and the handholds are affixed to a vertical stand.
