Provided is an aqueous pectin solution which can cause thickening even of enteral nutrients having a sodium content of 180mg/100mL or greater, and in which sediment does not occur during storage. This aqueous pectin solution contains pectin having a degree of esterification of 5-15% and a viscosity-average molecular weight of 10000-35000. The calcium concentration of the aqueous pectin solution is 9ppm or less, and the viscosity (25°C) of the aqueous pectin solution is 1-30mPa*s. A liquid mixture of 100mL of the aqueous pectin solution and 200mL of a calcium sodium aqueous solution containing 0.019mol/L calcium chloride and 0.020mol/L of sodium citrate has a viscosity (25°C) of 700-10000mPa*s.
