A heart rate measurement machine and a method thereof are provided. The electrocardiograph machine includes a sense circuit and a controller. The sense circuit contains a proximity sensor and a pulse sensor. The proximity sensor is configured to sense and output a proximity output signal which represents whether the sense circuit is close to an object. The pulse sensor is configured to sense and output a DC output signal which represents whether the sense circuit is hung in the air.
