PURPOSE: An external use skin composition containing viridiflorol is provided to suppress inflammation response and to treat atopic dermatitis. CONSTITUTION: An external use skin composition contains 0.0001-20 wt% of viridiflorol which suppresses inflammation, erythema, and pruritus. The external use skin composition is a cosmetic composition or pharmaceutical composition applied to the skin except for a cleansing agent. The external use skin composition treats xeroderma and atopic dermatitis. Viridiflorol is denoted by chemical formula 1 and is decahydro-1,1,4,7-tetramethyl-1H-cycloprop(e)azulen-4-ol.본 발명은 비리디플로롤(viridiflorol)을 함유하여 아토피성 피부염 및 피부 건조증 개선 등의 효과가 있는 피부질환 개선 또는 예방용 외용제 조성물에 관한 것으로 비리디플로롤은 아토피성 피부염에 나타나는 염증반응과 2차 세균감염을 억제하고 피부 보습작용을 통해 아토피성 피부염을 개선할 수 있으며 피부 각질층과 피부 장벽을 정상적으로 회복시켜 주는 역할을 하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
