The method for assessing the severity of patients with traumatic injuries at the preclinical stage comprises the examination with an appropriate complex of clinical and diagnostic assays aimed at the assessment of the severity of the functional impairments. The cardiovascular system is assessed by measurements of systolic blood pressure； the respiratory system – by the rate of respiratory movements； the function of the nervous system – by the motor and verbal reactions. The measured values are scored in points and the sum of points is calculated. The type of trauma is assessed as isolated, multiple or associated and also is scored in points. The assessment of each parameter is provided by comparing them with the normal values and evaluation of the extent their deviation. The parameters are scored in 0-2 scale as follows: the systolic pressure above 100 mm Hg is scores as 2 points, the systolic pressure within 100-85 mm Hg – 1 point, less than 85 85 mm Hg – 0； the rate of respiratory movements within 8-40 min is scored as 2 points, the rate of respiratory movements more than 40 or less than 8 – 1 point, the breathing is absent – 0. When motor reaction is manifested as voluntary purposeful movements of the limbs, the function of the nervous system is scored as 2 points； the movements that are induced only by pain – 1 point； the movements are absent – 0. When the verbal reaction is correct, 2 points are scored； when only separate words are spoken thickly, 1 point is scored； the absence of speech is scored as 0. The isolated trauma is scored as 2 points, multiple trauma – as 1 point, associated trauma – 0. The total score of 10 indicated that the condition is stable.
