The present invention is directed to synthetic astaxanthin which is suitable for human consumption. The present invention is further directed to processes where methanol is used to drastically reduce the content of dichloromethane in such synthetic astaxanthin, whereby the amount of methanol is constantly decreased during the process.La présente invention concerne l'astaxanthine synthétique qui est appropriée à la consommation humaine.
