PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double bearing reel having a brake for braking a spool that can suppress an increase in an inertia amount of the spool and appropriately impart brake force according to the rotation of the spool to the spool without enlarging a configuration of the brake.SOLUTION: A double bearing reel body includes a spool shaft 3, a spool, and a brake for braking the spool. The spool shaft 3 is rotatably supported by the reel body. The spool includes a line winding body mounted non-rotatably on the spool shaft 3, around whose outer periphery a fishing line can be wound.
