An ophthalmic device, comprising: at least a first photon emitter; at least a first light source, and after exiting the light source, part of the light from the light source is emitted by the first photon emitter; an electronic component that provides an electric potential to the light source; a power element that provides energy to at least the electronic component, the size and shape of the battery allowing it to be used between the surface of the eye and the eyelid of the user when used. The ophthalmic device according to claim 1, wherein: the first photon emitter is formed of a semiconductor material. The ophthalmic device according to claim 2, wherein: the semiconductor material is silicon. The ophthalmic device according to claim 3, wherein: the first photon emitter further comprises a resistive heating element. The ophthalmic device according to claim 1, wherein: the first light source is an LED. The ophthalmic device according to claim 1, wherein: the first radiation source is a laser.
