The present invention relates to a composite scaffold comprising nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite (n-HA), gelatin and carboxymethyl chitin (CMC) wherein the carboxymethyl chitin (CMC) is an anionic charge sodium salt characterized and optimized in that the ratio of the nano-crystalline-hydroapatite: gelatin: anionic charge sodium salt of carboxymethyl chitin is 1:2:1. The present invention also relates to the method for preparing the same.
