A guide wire for surgery according to the present invention comprises a long guide member having such a dimension as to be inserted into the blood vessel of a subject. The guide member includes a long body segment and a preceding tip segment. The long body segment has a longitudinal opening. The preceding tip segment has such a dimension as to perform a joint movement with respect to the long body segment centering on a single shaft.
