A method for folding an absorbent article according to the present invention comprises: a bending step of bending an absorbent article (2) in two in the length direction at a bending line (L) such that a first region (19) and a second region (20) overlap a compression step of compressing the bent absorbent article (2) in a direction in which the first region (19) and the second region (20) are pressed together pressing within first portions (14a 15a) of through parts (14 15) an absorbent body (12) of through part non present portions (20a) of the second region (20) and pressing within second portions (14b 15b) of the through parts (14 15) the absorbent body (12) of through part non present portions (19a) of the first region (19) thereby folding the absorbent article (2) into a thickness which is less than twice the thickness of the absorbent article (2) and a conveyance step of while pressing together the first region (19) and the second region (20) conveying the folded absorbent article (2) with the bent portion of the absorbent article (2) as the leading end thereof.
