The invention relates to a device for a wheel chair comprising a base frame (1), a seat (2), wherein the seat is pivotally disposed around a second pivot point (B), so that the seat can assume several positions from a substantially horizontal position to a substantially vertical position, and a linkage (3), articulately connecting the seat to the base frame, wherein the linkage is adapted for pivoting the seat between the different positions. The device is characterized in that the linkage comprises a steering arm (8), which is adapted for connecting the second pivot point to a first pivot point (A) at the base frame such that, when the seat is pivoted in a first pivoting direction around the second pivot point, the second pivot point is moved by the steering arm along a circular arc in a second pivoting direction around the first pivot point, wherein the second pivoting direction is opposite to the first pivoting direction.
