PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exterior body designed such that the curvature radius of the top part of gathering formed on the external surface of a sheet when an elastic stretchable member is shrunk, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: Both side parts of an elastic stretchable member in the width direction thereof are respectively fixed to both side parts of two sheets. The two sheets are fixed at a first connection part extending in the width direction of the upper side of one of the vertically adjacent elastic stretchable members, and at a second connection part extending in the width direction of the lower side of the one elastic stretchable member. The first connection part is formed by a first connection portion extending in the width direction at a first intermission interval. A second connection part is formed by a second connection portion extending in the width direction at a second intermission interval. In a side view orthogonal to the width direction, the second connection portion is located at the first intermission interval and the first connection portion is located at the second intermission interval.
