PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe pet food material having an antistress effect and a palatability improving effect.SOLUTION: An animal meat or fish meat is treated with a protease such as papain to obtain a pet food material with excellent thermal stability which includes, as a main valid ingredient, a peptide composed of 2-10 amino acid residues.
