An object of the present invention is to provide a material for tissue regeneration which prevents bacterial growth and promotes granulation tissue formation and epithelization. The present invention provides a material for tissue regeneration containing a synthetic protein polymer (A),wherein the synthetic protein polymer (A) contains at least one polypeptide chain (Y) and/or at least one polypeptide chain (Y), and has a hydrophobic scale of 0.2 to 1.2,the total number of the polypeptide chains (Y) and (Y) in the synthetic protein polymer (A) is 1 to 100,the polypeptide chain (Y) consists of 2 to 200 consecutive units of one amino acid sequence (X) selected from VPGVG (2), GVGVP (3), GPP, GAP, and GAHGPAGPK (4), andthe polypeptide chain (Y) is a polypeptide chain wherein 1 to 100 amino acid residues in the polypeptide chain (Y) are independently replaced with a lysine or arginine residue.
