The present invention provides an oxime group-containing quinoline compound represented by the general formula (1):(wherein Ris a haloalkyl group, Ris a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, Ris a haloalkyl group or an alkylthio alkyl group, A is an N-methyl group, Ais a nitrogen atom, Ais CH, m is 2, and n is 1), or a salt thereof； an agricultural and horticultural insecticide comprising the compound or a salt thereof as an active ingredient； and a method for using the insecticide.
