PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-soluble vasospasm inhibitor which is highly safety because it can be extracted from edible plants which can be supplied stably, hardly inhibits normal vasoconstriction, can inhibit abnormal vasoconstriction (vasospasm), and can be used as not only oral administration but instantaneous injection.SOLUTION: A vasospasm inhibitor is included in each site of the root, trunk, branch, stem, and leaf of Salacia spp. plants, such as Salacia oblonga, and is obtained by drying the root, trunk, branch, stem, and leaf of Salacia spp. plants by solar drying or the like； and carrying out hot water extraction of shreds thereof. By intravenous injection of the vasospasm inhibitor, diseases caused by vasospasms, such as cerebral infarction after development of subarachnoid haemorrhage can be effectively treated.SELECTED DRAWING: None
