And it is expected to be very useful in this field.본 발명은 신종식물 ‘자강고추’(Capsicum annuum L. spp. purple pepper) 및 이의 육종방법에 관한 것으로, 육종원료로서 당조고추를 사용하여 자주색 파프리카와 종간잡종을 유기하고 계통순화와 자가불화합 검정 및 종자생산력 검정을 실시하여 생육된, (1) 잎모양은 고추잎보다 크고 파프리카잎보다 작은 중간타잎의 유선 타원형 형태를 보이고 있으며, 광택이 있고； (2) 식물체 생장습성은 직립형이고； (3) 식물체 주간의 길이와 절간의 길이는 중간정도이고； (4) 과실의 자세는 하향이며, 과실의 길이는 짧은편이며 자루쪽은 직경이 굵고 긴 삼각형이고； (5) 과실 표면은 광택이 있고, 둔한 요철이 있으며； (6) 과실은 자색을 띨 때 풋고추용으로 이용하며, 성숙기의 색은 홍색이고； (7) 과실 꼭지의 함몰은 별로 없으며, 정부의 모양은 약간 뭉툭한 편이며； (8) 과실자루의 길이는 중간이고 두께는 굵고； (9) 과실의 무게는 평균 60-90g 정도이나 큰 것은 100그람이 넘는 경우도 있으며； (10) 과경은 평균 5-8cm이고 큰 것은 10cm이며； (11) 용도는 풋고추용, 생과용, 샐러드용, 절임용인 특성을 가지며 씨앗 또는 조직배양에 의한 무성번식법에 의해 번식되는 신종식물 자강고추는 단기로 여러 번 재배가 가능하여 농업상 경제적 가치가 매우 높아 당분야에서도 매우 유용할 것으로 기대된다.
