PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for preventing radiation exposure and an apparatus for preventing radiation exposure caused by neutrons and activation of air by neutrons in a neutron treatment.SOLUTION: A neutron treatment table is shielded by a radiation shielding material to shield against neutrons. In addition, artificial air which does not substantially contain argon is substituted for the air environment (a space) shielded by the radiation shielding material to prevent the radiation exposure caused by the activation of the air environment. As its means, the apparatus for preventing radiation exposure comprises a radiation shielding chamber where the periphery of the treatment table inside a neutron treatment room is shielded by the radiation shielding material, an artificial air producing device for producing artificial air, an air blower for sending the artificial air to the radiation shielding chamber, and an exhaust line for discharging the air in the radiation shielding chamber.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】中性子治療に際しての中性子及び中性子による大気の放射化による放射線被曝を防止するための簡易な放射線被曝防止方法及び放射線被曝防止装置を提供する。【解決手段】上記課題を解決するために、中性子を遮蔽するために中性子診療台を放射線遮蔽材で遮蔽する。また、大気環境の放射化による放射線被曝を防止するために上記放射線遮蔽材で遮蔽された大気環境(空間)をアルゴンを実質的に含まない人工空気に置換する。その手段として、中性子診療室内の診療台の周辺を放射線遮蔽材で遮蔽した放射線遮蔽室と、人工空気を製造するための人工空気製造装置と、人工空気を放射線遮蔽室に送風するための送風器と、放射線遮蔽室の空気を排気するための排気ラインと、からなる放射線被曝防止装置の構成とした。【選択図】図1
