PURPOSE: A composition containing phenyl ethyl alcohol for preventing and treating anthracnose is provided to suppress the growth of anthracnose and to reduce the attack rate of anthracnose. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating anthracnose contains phenyl ethyl alcohol as an active ingredient. The effective amount of the composition prevents or treats anthracnose. The phenyl ethyl acohol is produced from Rhizopus oligosporus KCCM 10624. The phenyl ethyl alcohol ensures antifungal activity against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides KACC 40897 and Monilinia sp. KV-27.본 발명에서는 사과 탄저병의 원인균인 Colletotrichum속의 미생물에 길항 효과가 있는 페닐에틸알코올을 유효량 포함하는 사과 탄저병 방제 및 치료용 조성물과 이를 이용한 사과 탄저병의 방제 또는 치료방법을 제공한다. 본 발명의 조성물은 사과탄저병균의 생육을 억제하므로 사과 탄저병의 발병률을 감소시킬 수 있게 된다.
