A pruning device (1) comprises a pair of cooperating blades (5a,5b) that are pivoted together and handles (4a,4b) movable to and from each other for a user to operate the cooperating blades (5a,5b). A saw blade attachment part (3) is attachable to and detachable from the device (1) by a user. When the saw blade attachment part (3) is attached to the device (1) the handles (4a,4b) and cooperating blades (5a,5b) are retained in a substantially fixed position relative to each other.
