PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which dissolves discomfort of a wearer due to wetting on a side to be in contact with the skin in the article by improving the liquid permeability of an absorbent body near a discharge part correspondence area thereby to suppress liquid remaining or liquid returning on the side to be in contact with the skin.SOLUTION: The vertically long absorbent article includes: a liquid permeable front surface sheet disposed on the side to be in contact with the skin a rear surface sheet disposed on the side opposite to the skin and an absorbent body disposed between the two sheets. The absorbent body at least has an upper layer absorbent body on the front surface sheet side and a lower layer absorbent body on the side opposite to the skin. A swelling part where a center part in an article width direction is projected toward the front surface sheet is arranged in a part corresponding to the excretion part of the wearer of the absorbent article. The portion of the absorbent body successively in contact with an external edge along the longitudinal direction of the swelling part includes the lamination part of the upper layer absorbent body and lower layer absorbent body, thereby to form a side high-density area where the density is higher than that of the swelling part. The lower layer absorbent body includes high basis weight parts and low basis weight parts mutually different in basis weight at least in the side high-density area. The low basis weight parts are thinner than the high basis weight parts in thickness and eccentrically located toward the upper layer absorbent body.
