PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape variable mat that can form a holding surface in a shape optimal to the users body, with a comfortable use feeling to be obtained and that facilitates a thin profile and a light weight.SOLUTION: A mat has a bag body 12 in which a powder or a granule are contained and in which a mixture 11 with a liquid added to a gap of the powder or the granule is filled. The mat is provided with a housing part 14 for housing the bag body 12, and is equipped with a frame 18 which supports the upper face 12a of the bag body 12 exposed from the upper end opening of the housing part 14. The mat is also provided with a vibrator 20 that vibrates the mixture 11. The bag body 12 is such that normally a holding face 12b in contact with a user M is hardly deformed, that the mixture 11 is fluidized by vibration of the vibrator 20, with the holding face 12b deformed in accordance with the load of the user M and that, by the stop of the vibration, the shape of the holding face 12b before the stop is fixed.
