PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a xanthan gum that is suitable as a fixative for hair cosmetic composition.SOLUTION: This invention relates to use of xanthan gum, particularly a heat-treated xanthan gum that is used as a hair fixative in hair cosmetic composition.
