PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely correct distortion in an image due to difference in optical characteristics between a reference scope and a user scope.

SOLUTION: In production processes, optical data measured based on image data on a grid chart 24 taken with a stereo optical adapter 2 installed on the reference scope 23, are recorded in an optical data card 29. Next, distortion parameters of the user scope 27 determined based on the image data on the chart 24 taken with the stereo optical adapter 2 not installed on the user scope 27 are recorded in EEPROM 28. Similarly, distortion parameters of the reference scope 23 are recorded in the optical data card 29. Using the distortion parameters of the reference scope 23 and the distortion parameters of the user scope 27, distortion in the image data taken for a sample for measurement 30 is corrected.
