The present invention relates to a composite material for particular use in the treatment of wounds and a method for producing said composite material. The composite material comprises a first foam layer comprising a first hydrophilic polyurethane foam material and a second foam layer comprising, in direct contact therewith, a second hydrophilic polyurethane foam material, the second foam layer comprising a second hydrophilic polyurethane foam material.
