PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant cultivation device for trees which is weatherproof in an outdoor environment with no soil, and has light weight and a simple mechanism: and to provide a plant cultivation method using the device.SOLUTION: The device is structured as follows: putting a planter where a woody plant passing the winter with its trunk left or maintaining the same trunk over a plurality of years is fixedly planted, at a position upper than a floor surface and pruning the trunks growing upward if unstrained, and drawing the trunks downward from the top surface of the planter with a fixing tool to grow the plant, so as to grow almost the whole of the above-ground part of the plant within a space between the top surface of the planter and the floor surface. Specifically, the device does not allow trunks or branches to grow upward from the top surface of the planter to draw all the trunks and the branches in a lateral direction and a downward direction to make the branches grow thickly at a high position without longitudinally growing a thick main trunk.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】土壌のない屋外環境下で、軽量、かつ、簡便な機構で風雨等にも耐えることのできる樹木用の植物栽培装置及びそれを用いた植物栽培法を提供する。【解決手段】幹を残して越冬する、もしくは、複数年に渡って同一の幹が維持される木本植物を定植したプランタを床面より上方の位置に設置し、拘束がなければ上方に成長する幹を剪定及び固定具によりプランタ上面より下方に誘引して育成させることにより、植物の地上部の大半を、前記プランタ上面と床面の間で育成させる。すなわち、幹や枝がプランタ上面から上方向に伸びることを許容せず、全て横方向及び下方向に誘引することで、縦に太い主幹を成長させることなく枝を高い位置で繁茂させる。【選択図】図1
