A method of monitoring compliance with the regimen of bolus administration of a therapeutic substance using an analyte testing device and a therapeutic substance dosing device, in which each of the two devices includes a microprocessor connected to a memory unit, the method comprising: obtaining from the memory of a data analyte testing device including the number of hyperglycemic episodes and the time stamp for each of the hyperglycemic episodes; retrieving from the memory of a therapeutic dosing device a timestamp for each bolus of the administered therapeutic substance; identifying a hyperglycemic episode that is not accompanied by the administration of at least one bolus of the therapeutic substance within the preset time range of the hyperglycemic episode; calculating the percentage of hyperglycemic episodes that are not accompanied by the administration of at least one bolus a therapeutic substance within a predetermined time range; and notification of the percentage of hyperglycemic episodes that are not accompanied by the administration of at least one bolus of a therapeutic substance within a predetermined time range. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the predefined time range comprises values from about one hour to the time stamp of the hyperglycemic episode to about one hour after the time stamp of the hyperglycemic episode.
