A method for generating a mixture of activated T-cells by combining aplurality of peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs) with an antigen-loadedliposome to produce antigen-loaded PBLs, and combining the antigen-loaded PBLswith a naive, anergic or memory T-cell, to produce an activated T-cell. Suchactivation is carried out in vivo or in vitro. The antigen-loaded PBLs andactivated T-cells, prepared according to the methods of invention, have use ascellular vaccines for treatment of cancer and viral diseases.
