To provide an apparatus and a method for producing salt by which impurities deposited by boiling down seawater can be easily removed and which is characterized in that the deposited impurities have a white color.
SOLUTION: The apparatus for producing salt is equipped with soil-made pots 10 for storing seawater or other salt water and a heating means 20 for boiling down the seawater in the soil-made pot 10. The method for producing salt includes: a process for boiling down brine water having a salt concentration higher than that of seawater in the soil-made pot 10 to obtain concentrated brine water having a salt concentration higher than that of the brine water a process for removing impurities deposited and floating ON the concentrated brine water a process for boiling down the concentrated brine water from which the impurities are removed in another soil-made pot 10 to obtain a saturated salt solution having a salt concentration higher than that of the concentrated brine water and a process for separating the saturated salt solution into a solid and a liquid to obtain natural salt and bittern.
