The disclosure relates to compositions and methods of suppressing or preventing systemic organ inflammation or multi organ failure in a human patient with acute illnesses, including but not limited to burns, major surgery, sepsis, autoimmune disorders, vasculitis, thromboembolism, trauma, and acute pancreatitis.
