PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform simultaneous communication of a plurality of endoscope images inputted from outside. SOLUTION: A video processor 19 provided in an endoscope instrument 7 is provided with a video signal processing circuit 21 for outputting a first digital image signal by digitally processing an imaging signal outputted from the eyepiece camera 18 of an endoscope 17, a video signal reception circuit 25 for receiving a second digital image signal outputted from another endoscope instrument 6, and an image data synthesis circuit 28 for synthesizing the respective digital image signals outputted from both of the circuits 21 and 25 synchronously. The digital image signal synthesized by the image data synthesis circuit 28 is transmitted to a network via a signal cable 9. Since the first and second digital video signals are outputted after they are synthesized in the state of being synchronized within the video processor 19, the simultaneous communication of the plurality of images becomes possible.
