PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper in which the original absorbing ability of an absorbent polymer contained in an absorbent body is sufficiently demonstrated, and the leakage preventing property has been increased.SOLUTION: The disposable diaper 1 includes a front surface sheet 2, a rear surface sheet 3, and the absorbent body 4 which is arranged between those sheets 2 and 3. The disposable diaper 1 is divided into a belly side section A, a back side section B and a crotch section C. Between the front surface sheet 2 and the rear surface sheet 3 in the waist flap section of the back side section B, a sheet-like composite member 6 is included. The sheet-like composite member 6 includes: a front surface nonwoven fabric 62 comprising a hydrophobic fiber and a rear surface nonwoven fabric 63 comprising a hydrophobic fiber, wherein the sheet-like composite member is formed in such a manner that an elastic member 61 under a stretched state in the width direction is arrange-fixed between the front surface nonwoven fabric 62 and the rear surface nonwoven fabric 63.
