PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorber and an absorptive article, excellent in liquid drawability and retentivity and capable of showing excellent absorptivity even to highly viscous liquid.
SOLUTION: The absorber includes a wet paper-made body 40 containing pulp fibers as main fibers, and many absorptive polymer particles 42 are dispersed and arranged inside the wet paper-made body 40. Inside the wet paper-made body 40, at least one absorptive polymer particle 42 surrounded by the component fibers is housed. A plurality of groups 40A, 40B of gap parts 43 are formed, and in the plurality of groups 40A, 40B of the gap parts, the average volumes of the gap parts 43 (43a, 43b) are different from each other. The gap part 43 has a size capable of housing the absorptive polymer particle 42 in a swollen state in the case that at least one absorptive polymer particle 42 housed in the gap part 43 absorbs liquid and gets swollen.
