PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article that makes an absorber in itself possess a deodorant and antibacterial function and that is excellent in productivity and shape retentivity after moisture absorption.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 200 comprises a top sheet 2, a back sheet 6, and absorbers 4a and 4b that are interposed between the top sheet and the back sheet. The absorber includes metal-supported cellulose fibers in which one or more kinds of metal particles selected from the group consisting of Ag, Au, Pt, Pd, Cu and Zn are supported on oxidized cellulose fibers having a carboxyl group or a carboxylate group on a surface.
