The image processing unit (15) creates a frequency distribution of image data including any of red, green, and blue color components from the photographed image of the organ obtained by the imaging unit (3), and obtains an index indicating a spread of the frequency distribution. The detecting unit (17) detects a crack in a surface of the organ based on the index.
