PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root-cutting mechanism which is prevented from giving influence on growth of cultivated plants cultivated in a plant cultivation device and also efficiently harvests the roots of the plants.SOLUTION: The root-cutting mechanism 10 can be fixed to a hydroponic cultivation device 1 for cultivating garlic 30 and is used to cut the roots 32 of the garlic 30. A shelf plate 4 for supporting the bulb 31 of the garlic 30 is provided with: a cutter 11 set up to be pressed down； and a blade 12 mounted on the tip end of the cutter 11 and cutting off the roots 32 of the garlic 30 by pressing down the cutter 11 while leaving part of the roots intact.【課題】植物栽培装置で栽培されている植物の生育に及ぼす影響を抑制し、かつ、効率よく上記植物の根を収穫する。【解決手段】根切り機構１０は、ニンニク３０の栽培を行なう水耕栽培装置１に取り付け可能であり、ニンニク３０の根３２を切るためのものであり、ニンニク３０の鱗茎３１を支持する棚板４に、押下されることが可能に配されたカッター１１と、カッター１１の先端に配され、カッター１１が押下されることで、一部を残してニンニク３０の根３２を切り取る刃１２とを備えている。【選択図】図１
