PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a culture soil for raising seedling and a method for raising seedling in which fertilizer effect of phosphorous acid is exerted for a long period of time without generating damage, such as chemical injury.SOLUTION: Culture soil for raising seedling uses peat moss and vermiculite as a culture soil base material, and contains phosphorous acid and/or phosphite. Herein, from the viewpoint of exerting efficacy of phosphorous acid for a longer period of time, it is preferable to further use zeolite as the culture soil base material. It is preferable that a volume ratio of zeolite in culture soil account for a range of 5 vol.% to 20 vol%. Further, it is preferable that content of phosphorous acid and/or phosphite be within a range of 2.46×10mol/L to 2.96×10mol/L. Furthermore, it is preferable that a volume proportion between peat moss and vermiculite be within a range of 15:85 to 85:15.
